Child Safety is our number 1 priority
Child safety is an incredibly important focus for The Blind Shop. Blinds and curtains with unsecured cords are a strangulation hazard for children. And small parts that can break off could cause choking in small children and toddlers.
We’re committed to providing safe installations and products to all out customers. But no matter where you choose to get your blinds there are a few things you should always consider for safety:
- Any loose cords should be tied up high - never leave them dangling.
- Any cord operations should be cut to length if possible - not trailing along the ground.
- Use tie-downs (cleats) or tension devices that enclose cords and chain loops.
- Make sure any of these tie downs or tensions devices are fixed securely and can’t be removed by small, curious hands.
At The Blind Shop, we’ll make sure we meet and exceed child safety requirements for your installation. Many of our blinds come with cordless and automatic operation methods - ensuring the ultimate safety for your family.
It's always good to ask how you can take better care of yourself and your family coming into the new year. Blinds is something you might not have even considered before!
